R3 Speaks: Human Resilience in Response to Disruptive Events

The natural state of living organisms is resilience. In the face of disruption, after the initial shock the most common reaction by far is to adapt, resolve, and recover. Many modern approaches to behavioral treatment, including those crisis response methodologies that say they are rooted in the concept of resilience, continue to focus on preventing long-term trauma, the least likely outcome. This brief talk focuses on how we can improve the outcomes of behavioral interventions by bending the curve of recovery toward maximum resilience.
